Martin W. Benjamin, Lic. Ac.

Martin (Marty) is committed to seeking the reduction and elimination of pain and chronic conditions. He has had spectacular results through the integration of Acupuncture and Pain Neutralization Technique (a gentle hands on system that utilizes neuro-reflexes that can quickly eliminate muscular and neurological pain). Marty’s style of approach is a unique healing therapy that accesses the body's memory of old patterns and re-programs the muscle and brain. This process frees restrictions that have developed as a result of compensation from injuries and chronic tensions. The combination of Acupuncture and Pain Neutralization Technique effectively allows for the treatment of a whole range of issues from Acute & Chronic Illness, Pain & Stress Disorders, Sport Injuries, as well as Muscular & Skeletal Disorders.

Marty joined the staff at AWC in 2011. He graduated from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, San Francisco, CA in 1989 and completed an internship at the New England School of Acupuncture Community Clinic. He has studied Pain Neutralization Techniques (Kaufman Techniques), Meridian Acupuncture, Tong Ren & Japanese Acupuncture, and Ortho-Bionomy. He also utilizes traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine. Marty was the Director/Clinician of Acupuncture at Canyon Ranch in Lenox, MA for Sixteen years and has enjoyed a successful practice in Northampton, MA since 1989. Marty has taught Pilates and is trained in Tai-Chi.

Testimonials:

“Four years ago, I awoke with severe back pain and spasms stemming from a previous fall.  My Physician referred me for physical therapy and massage. Knowing I was still in pain, a dear and trusted friend suggested I try acupuncture with Martin Benjamin.  After the first session, I felt 50% better and by the third or fourth session was back to my normal self.   I highly recommend acupuncture with Martin Benjamin to all my friends and colleagues.” ~ Penny Mahoney, Ed. D. Hadley, MA

“Several years ago I developed significant pain in both of my knees that went on for months.  I would stand at the top of the stairs and wonder how I would get down them.  Finally I went to see Marty Benjamin.   After four treatments of acupuncture I was able to descent the stairs from his office better than I had for years, and I continue to have significant relief.   I recommend Marty to my family and friends.” ~ Andrew Larkin, MD, Harvard Medical School
